Another side of Brazil – The artisanal craft of embroidery

Due to the current travel restrictions it hasn’t been easy for us at Common Texture to meet artisans around the world. Fortunately, before the Covid-19 pandemic started, we were lucky to stumble upon an exhibition on the Amazon's Kayapo Women and meet some local artisans in the capital of Brazil, Brasília. Leila Muniz was one of these artisans and we found her work and story both positive and inspiring, fitting so well with what Common Texture is all about: promoting and preserving traditional crafts with a beautiful personal connection. During our stay in India we were surrounded by the most amazing textile arts, from weaving to silk painting and everything in between.
